Unlock PDF is the companion to Protect PDF. When you know a PDF’s password but are tired of typing it every time you open the file, this tool writes a new copy without the password. The password you enter is used once, in your browser, to open the document and is never stored or sent anywhere.

How it works

  1. Choose the protected PDF (or drop it in).
  2. Type the password you use to open it.
  3. Click Remove password.
  4. Download the unlocked copy.

Example uses

  • A bank statement you download pre-locked and re-open often.
  • A shared report whose password you know but collaborators keep asking for.
  • Your own scans that you locked earlier and now want open.

Frequently asked questions

Can this open a PDF if I don’t know the password?

No. You must enter the correct password. This tool is for documents you are allowed to open — it removes a password you already have, it does not break or guess unknown passwords.

Is my password sent anywhere?

No. Everything happens in your browser. The password is used once to decrypt the file on your device and is discarded when you leave the page.

What comes out?

A normal PDF with the same pages and content, but no password needed to open it.

Your files stay on your device

This tool runs entirely in your browser. After the page has loaded, nothing about your document is sent to a server — no upload, no account, no watermark.
